Take it to a dealer! Do not mess with the airbags or airbag systems! You could be injured or killed!! Yes I said killed!
Airbags deploy @ over 200 miles per hour! This is enough to kill you if it hits you just right. It is there to save your life but could end it too.

Try googling your car's year/make/model & airbag light fix - I did that and was able to find this weird process for my Infiniti, you press the brake, turn the key on then off, then start, then something with a fuse. Turned the light off immediately, it stayed off for about 3 months. When it comes back on, I just repeat the process and it goes away again.
Only do something like this if you're not concerned about the airbags deploying in an accident - I'm only 5' tall, so I'm safer without an airbag, since I sit so close to the steering wheel. It doesn't fix the problem, just turns the light off, so I have no idea if my airbag would work in a collision.

Do not try to fix the problem yourself.
Airbags are explosive devices, and attempting any repairs or modifications (or even removing the airbag completely) if you are not fully trained is very dangerous.
The light indicates that there is a problem somewhere, but not what the problem is. To find that out the dealer connects a computer to the airbag sensing/diagnostic controller, and interrogates it to find the fault. Without the correct connectors and software, you don't really have a chance to find the problem yourself.
Do not try to safe money on safety-critical items such as airbags - your life may depend on it.

under no circumstances should you ever tamper with airbag lights. tampering with them can cause them to detonate prematurely and cause serious injury. Only course of action is to take it to a garage and have it plugged into the computer and have fault diagnosed. It may just be a simple case of switching it off, costs usually around £25. BUT DON'T USE A DEALERSHIP!!!! prices go through the roof there. Cost of new airbag kit if you make a mistake trying to fix it yourself runs in the 100's so don't risk it.

nearly every car Ive ever had does this in the end I took the bulb out as they wanted 200 quid to fix it and it does not affect the working of the airbag.

you'll want to have a technician look at it cause it could just be a bad ground wire, and if it goes off and your working on it, it's more then likely a bad thing, but best guess is have a technician look at it and see if it's a bad ground wire cause a lot of the times that's what the problem is...
