HBK was a great Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion and will go down as one of the greatest in-ring performers ever, but let's look at his World Title reigns:
The first reign was a complete failure for the company. HBK only had 2 good matches (Bret Hart/WM 12 and Foley/IYH: Mind Games). When Survivor Series 96 came, the fans were booing HBK because they hated his sexy boy gimmick. It did not meet the WWF's target audience which were (Males that were 18-34).
Shawn dropped the belt in his second title reign because he didn't want to job to Bret Hart at WM 13. That why he brought that stupid crap up about him "losing his smile".
His third reign was the result of the Montreal Screwjob. Which makes another tainted title reign.
His 4th title reign only lasted a month.

Yes I totally agree with you.Hbk is one of the greatest in ring performers in the wwe but none of his title reigns were good.I hope he may beat cena at wrestlemania and be a 5 time wwe champion and this time his title reign will be good.

HBK's world title reigns, I agree, were not good. HBK is more of a tag team wrestler, I think. He was a great tag team champion with several very good wrestlers.

but hbk scewed over(bret,razor ramon,diesel) but its not his fault its vince fault ....no he did have alot of good matches better than the matches that u listed (vs angle,vs jericho,vs hhh,vs benoit and hhh,vs cena at wm)...
he is great in the ring and i did like his gimmick...this is the same thing with cena its not his fault that he had the title for a long time its vince fault and some people didn't like his gimmick...
ok in conclusion hbk is one of the best and title is not everything he made a name to himself in wrestling history.....
he is the show stopper,the icon,the heart break kid SHAWN MICHAELS .

He is much like Randy Orton's IC and World Heavyweight Champion reigns, as Orton only achieved his titles through his Evolution buddies. But I agree with you on the HBK part, I think that he is a great superstar, but much like John Cena, he is overrated, he is funny as hell, but I do not like him.
