George Lucas began the script in 1972 when he finished it which was about a year later he went to United Artists and Universal studios both companies and both companies rejected the project because they thought it was too childish. Then, he went to 20th Century Fox and Alan Ladd Jr. acdepted the project and invested in it. But there were problems during the shooting of the film: they were behind schedule, century fox started pressuring alan and george and the visual effects were difficult to do because they were trying to do them with thing that have never been done before. it was so much pressure that george lucas almost had a heart attack. the movie was to be released in december 1976 but they were behind schedule and they programmed the release on may 25 1977. Many people including some actors and crew said that the movie was pure nonsense but on the day of the premiere
was wonderful and the movie became a sucsess.
