Why do people use the word SUCK. This sucks, that sucks, my hair sucks, I missed a math problem, that sucks. So unlady like. What has caused us to go this direction with our language. How do we change it?

People use the word because they know what it means. If you want to change it start using a different word and convince other people to use it. I don't know that our language is all going in "this" direction, after all the word "nice" originally meant "mentally challenged", which suggests to me that some of our language is going in "that" direction.

Language is transitory by nature. Your complaint has been voiced by every generation since the beginning of verbal communication.

The "corruption" of language with "slang" is really a natural process of change through which each generation expresses itself in a way that is new and unique from that of its parents.

Long story short, there's no use fighting it!

I love ( detect the sarcasm?) the way you refer to the term " suck" as being unlady like. So what, it's okay for guys to say it? It's time we as women stood up and took charge, you can talk however the hell you want to and we can go just as far as men can, if got farther! Who's with me?

Like anything else it is a direct result of lazy. i don't really know how to change it other than for society to quit accepting it as a passable nuance.
