I'm a mother of 3 and I always based it on how much they spit up or smelled sour. If, like my first one, it was often I would bathe her every morning or evening, whenever she was awake the longest. But regardless of how they smelled I at least bathed them every other day. I didn't think the wipies cleaned their bottoms enough for me. I liked the though of soaking them in a warm soapy bath. They also have a lot of cracks that seemed to harbor a lot of dead skin that would soak clean in a bath. That was my personal preference and I also thought they slept better after a warm bath which I desperately needed.

Personally, I bathe my 12 week old son every night as part of his bedtime routine. I love the way that he smells when he snuggles up to me when going to sleep, it's my favorite smell! Sometimes we'll skip a night but usually not two. His hair starts to stink since I always touch it.
A lot of the baby books that I've read suggest bathing them 2-3 times/ week so I guess it's really just a personal decision.

ok this is a hard question my daughter is 20 months and I have always given her a bath every day. As to my son he is 3 months old and he has a lot of breathing problems. I am scared to give him a bath. so I end up giving him a bath once to twice a week. I am so scared of him getting sick.

Our pediatrician told us not to bathe her more than every 3 days or so......but I thought that was WAY too long. So I improvised. She goes into the tub every night We do 2 days of just using soapy water on the diaper area. The rest of her is just wiped down with a plain wet washcloth. Then on the third day, she gets her hair washed and a full soap wipe down. I wash her on a water proof pad and rinse her thoroughly in the big tub THEN put her in the baby tub of plain water (the baby tub sits in the big tub). This way she can play and splash, but the soap does not irritate her skin. She has dry and sensitive skin, so I have to be careful. We use Eucirin calming cream on soap nights and Johnson's creamy baby oil on non-soap nights. It works great. She is getting a constant bath every night, so that helps with the bedtime routine. But only using soap every third day keeps her skin soft and not dried out.

I gave my baby a bath every day, and the pediatrician said that I shouldn't in the winter time; I was making her skin too dry, and that I should give her a bath every other day, and just clean her bottom good when I changed her.

i think of a tub each and each night till now settling down is a solid theory. It gets toddler right into a ordinary that can proceed in the time of formative years. It makes them experience sparkling, in basic terms think of the type you experience in case you didn`t bathe or bathe each and every day. Its no longer that adults get particulary grimy yet skin sheds and should be bumped off with a tub or bathe. Getting a ordinary early on in existence can keep a lot of heartache as toddler grows. discover a toddler lotion which suits his/her skin yet use it sparingly.

When he was newborn I bathed him every second day as that is what the midwives advised me to do. From about 6 months I started bathing him every day. I think it's really up to you on how often you want to bath your child, you know them best and what is best for them.

Our daughter is 3 months old. I give her a bath every 2-3 days (which is what was recommended to me by my pediatrician). If she pukes all over herself I give her a bath right away regardless of when her last bath was.

I bathe my kids 3 times a week. For little babies I do it every other day. Babies just do not get dirty. You clean their butt with a baby wipe all the time, right? And how do they get dirty besides that? They just lay around all the time! YOu are actually advised by doctors and baby books NOT to bathe a new baby every day. It is very drying.

I remember the nurse at the hospital saying that every two days is ok as you don't want to wash away all their natural oils in their skin.BUT i gave my daughter a bath everyday with the Johnson's baby wash as it was my choice and yes i think if a baby throws up or poops, you certainly don't want people cuddling them when they smell bad??
