Yes a couple of ounces a day, but this is in addition to the formula. You shouldn't replace a feeding with water. This is also the first thing you should try when a baby that young gets constipated. Nothing wrong with a couple ounces every day or two.

I started giving my son water in between feeds from about 2 months, I was never advised not to. He has had no problems with it and now drinks water all the time (he's 12 months).

Yes! If you are bottle feeding your baby they need to be feed water aswell, if you are breast feeding you dont have to but i found it was a good way to help keep them regular. Make sure you boil the water and let it cool down first. I have 4 kids and i feed them all i small amount of water in a bottle from about 2 weeks old and my kids love water and are very healthy children.

Babies usually get all the water they need from breast milk or formula. Only exception would be in the middle of summer when it is extremely hot and dry. Even then, no more than a half ounce or so every couple of hours. If you are nursing, just nurse him more often.

It is not recommended to give your infant water until he/she is 6 months old. If you are breastfeeding (which is the #1 recommended safe and best food for your baby) the first milk from your breast is extremely full of water and after a while the milk changes to give protein and vitamins. Even if you have decided to formula feed, don't worry, its full of water as well. Good luck and enjoy your new bundle of love!

it's not recommended to give your baby water until 6 months of age. also water is very thin and cause your baby to choke easily.

It won't hurt him, but why would you want to? They need all the formula/breastmilk they can take at that age. Water fills him up his tummy with nothing.
