Why would someone want to be emo?
Not trying to offend anyone.
But, emo kids spend so much time feeling sorry for theirselves
when they could spend their time getting closer to the Lord and learning to love themselves not feel sorry for theirselves.
Being emo just gives them an excuse
Doesn't help them, if anything it just makes them worse.
But reading The Holy Bible does, it brings you closer to God, and helps you love yourself and others.

I would like to point out something in your question. A person can be emo and a christian, I know 3 people that are. Secondly, they don't feel sorry for themselves, that's goths! Don't get me wrong here, I'm not emo. I'm just trying to make the world a little more polictically correct. By the way, I have no idea why someone would want to be emo I just let people be what they want to be.

A lot of people turn "emo" to go with the trend. They wear the clothes, listen to the music, and pretend to be mentally depressed when they're just being melodramatic. I really don't like those kinds of posers, but I know some emos that really embrace the sort of culture behind that genre of music, which by the way is what being emo is centered around, not how sad your life is.

Emo is just a label. Just like goth, preppy, skater, etc.
I see emo just as a fad...
Sure, I like the way they dress, and there's nothing wrong with the type of music they listen to.
But you're right. They should really stop feeling sorry for themselves.
I don't think emo kids read the bible.And I don't think they want to get close to god if they cut themselves.
I dunno, Maybe some do.
What about the ones that don't believe in god?
Without trying to convert them, what do you think those emos should do?

their trying to express them selves, they are trying to show their feelings and their just not sure how to or can't do it any other way, but by dressing up, it is an outlet for them. some people cut themselves, some shave their heads...some dress up in emo gear - get over it and let them be.
..and also to annoy people like you who are annoying bible bashes. post this question is the religion section- you'll get more answer you may actually want to hear.

yeah... hi... yeah people have told me that im emo, and i in a way, see myself as emo, and i have a very close relationship with God, being emo doesnt mean you have to be depressive, and feel sorry for yourself all the time... emo is an expression of who you are, "we" just deal with our problems in a more emotional expressing way... hence the term emo.
dont think all emo's are sad and depressed, cause thats just not how it is...

Some kids are just having a rough time. Sometimes they don't believe in God because their lives are hell. They question why would God do that and stuff. And if their parents doesn't help them and show them who God is, well, it isn't their fault.

somethimes it's really not their fault, they are just VERY depressed and no one understands so it makes it worse. they dont want to be emo, they just don't have a choice. they did not choose it! no one who is not emo or depressed can understand so they just think it's just feeling sorry for themselves. depression is a mental diesese, and any one can get it. being emo is not an excuse, it's a diesese.

I'm not sure. maybe they think God is against them or something. I know i feel that way sometimes. but i don't dress all in black or cut myself. i just pray or go do something that makes me happy.
I think emo kids just want attention and want people to feel bad for them

some actually have problems. I wanted to do lots of things and felt sorry and hated myself. I was so miserable I started asking God for help and I've been doing better

EMO is a good way to get SSDI, and SSI. I get both, plus a VA pension for EMO (Emotional Intensity Disorder). that's 3k tax free bucks a month baby. see my myspace gorgeous.
