Well... if the pot is boiling over, it is filled with liquid, so will produce steam, not smoke. So!!! If the smoke alarm is going.... whoa! you have a problem!!! :-) So just answer questions - too late for the pot and alarm!

Please put a lid on the pot and put it in the sink!! Our next door neighbor's kid did that last year and the whole house burned down :(
