Hand to nose or mouth can suggest lying. Hand on waist can be competetive. However, any action can be done just to give "thinking time" so you have to be careful.

The only body language that ever bothered me as a therapeutic social worker was the standing over me with their finger in my face. I used to put two fingers gently on my lips to keep my mouth shut when a client was talking, some people cannot deal looking at others without putting their hands over their mouth. The waist thing? Could be soooo many things, arrogance to nothing else to do with their hands. The most obvious is the crossing the arms across the chest. Wall between you and them. When you go for a job interview always sit still, keep your arms open-I put mine on the arms of the chair. It makes you appear OPEN (the other body languages are closed)

hand on nose---something stinks.

hand on mouth----oops did i say that out loud? or to keep silent, or sssssssshhhhhh don't say a word.

hands on waist---wait a second...are you kidding me? or i don't believe it. or not really patiently waiting for someone to finish something.
