This movie shows the human condition at it's worst and best. It attempts to explain prejudice and racism. It also has a classic circular or cyclical turn of events. Good flick.

The only thing wrong with this movie is each person will only see their own perspective. I was asked at work where I am in the white minority, how I felt about the way the woman went off on her husband after the cop fingered her. I said I would do the same to my boyfriend. I understand there was nothing he could do but he is supposed to protect me and just like the woman in the movie I would say sorry the next day after I calmed down. I was then told that could never happen to me cuz I am white.
So there is no chance whatever that a black cop with a chip on his shoulder would pull me over and if I got mouthy with him he would do me wrong? Predigest happens to all there is always someone out there who is going to do you wrong and hate you because of the color of you skin. I was asked by the same co-worker if I am proud to be a white woman? I said "Yes, I am proud of who I am." In turn I asked after she gave me a look as if I had nerve " why is it a proud black woman is a diva and a proud white woman is an Aryan Nation Queen?" She walked away. I am proud of who I am I do not know how to be a proud Asian, black or hispanic woman I am white.

am no longer partial to action picture remakes. fairly, i'm fairly prepared on authenticity of movies and characters, originality counts for me. however, I cherished this action picture. sure, Peter sellers' Clouseau became into one in all my popular characters in my adolescence, yet I cherished Steve Martin as Clouseau besides, and the stable ingredient is: He did no longer do something to a ineffective ringer for unique Clouseau in my strategies. He had the unique Clouseau spirit, yet he became right into a diverse "stupid detective with a French accessory", reflecting the version in his time and his sort. regrettably, being partial to Kevin Kline's humorous performing sort, extremely that in the time of the unforgettable "A Fish called Wanda", i'm no longer waiting to assert I liked Kevin Kline's area in this action picture. He became into in simple terms a basic Dreyfus without hint of the stunning unique, and without style coming from Kline's proved expertise. If a sequel follows this action picture, i'm hoping to work out extra from Kline, because of the fact there is not any question that he can supply extra and the unique Dreyfus factors an stunning plot to construct on.

The recent one was a lot better than the James Spader movie from the early 90's. Spader's film was about people who got sexually aroused by auto accidents. Not a comfortable topic at any level.

Some great irony in that movie. I especially liked when the two black guys got upset because the white yuppie couple acted afraid of them 'just because they were young black guys'....then they carjacked them.

The dialogue was too direct. It sounded like the characters were making speeches rather than speaking like real people.
