That's exactly the same iBook I have and it works great still. I have made some modifications to it, I increased the memory to the max 640 MB (128mb on main board and 512mb in the expansion slot) and installed a 160gb internal HD. I run OSX Tiger and this old girl flies. I too do music and rarely run into problems.

Now what type of music are you talking about, cause the only problem you will have if you buy this iBook is you can only upgrade to Tiger. Leopard cannot be used on the old G3's from what I've read and you are also dealing with USB 1.0 ports at 12 mbps.

While I love my little work horse, I would say spend the money on a G4 or better, cause Apple is not going to Support the G3 much longer and then your stuck. I'm saving for a New Macbook Pro myself but am waiting till Leopard is out and well reviewed before I buy.

Good Luck

nope. i got mine for $100 and it has a 900mhz processor and 40gb hard drive. if you are buying it from a company than maybe. if you are buying it from an individual then check to make sure that the power adapter is in great working condintion. that seems to be the number 1 part that gets replaced the most on mac laptops. and it can run you up to $80 to get that replaced. you could buy one online (ebay) and you could save $100 or so....just be sure to ask those questions, including a question about the battery. (does it hold its charge, etc, etc.) you should expect to pay around 250 for one with those specs. but its worth it

no it is going to be a slow peice of crap and additionally you dont opt for 10gb's that wont carry plenty... you a minimum of opt for 30 gb's for issues collectively with track and pictures and storing issues.... for ram you may additionally like 512 to 1gb for an outstanding velocity.... desire this helps
