Not at all, besides, your patients will never ask where you went to undergrad, they are more concerned about your medical degree, even then they rarely ask.
The school cares about GPA, MCAT, essays, interviews, letters of recommendation, and experience. I was a certified nursing assistant for three years prior to medical school, and it helps not only on the application, but gave me experiences to draw on when I was in my interview. Many schools are now requiring a significant amount of direct patient contact just to apply.
Speak to an admissions counselor at each of the schools you wish to apply to. They can tell you how competitive your application will be, as well as what areas that particular school focuses on in the selection process.

unquestionably, SMU is a very great place for a pre-med training. The question is financial flexibility. Med college is costly, so will you be waiting to arise with the money for med college and a private undergrad? as long as your college is accepted everybody has a gamble at med college. sturdy luck!

Not really, as long as your GPA was high and your MCAT is good it doesn't really matter where you go to undergrad school.
