I am worried that with all thats going on, A-Rod and his mouth, Mariano contract drama, Bernie's issues, etc are going to turn this team into the baseball version of the Giants. It seems like all of the focus are on the wrong parts. I still feel they will be better than the crimson hose and the rest of the East, but will all of this hurt their season.

That's why they play the games. Yankees had plenty of drama in 1977-78 and still did it.

I can't help but think of the "Bronx Zoo". They ended up winning three pennants in a row (76,77,78) and two world championships (77,78). The Yankees are still the best team in baseball.

Exactly right with the 1978 Yankees. I bet every team has **** like this goin on, they just don't make it public. The media feels that they should make these issues public, and I'm cool with that, especially when the Yanks win it all and it all backfires for the media.
