I think the Republicans are afraid of him, he does have many of Bush's good qualities he sticks with what he believes even when its very politically uncool (he was against the war when everyone else was for it; Bush persists with his failed Iraq policies) Fox attacks him daily and lies about him thats how they do things when threatened. What do you guys think about him? Honest thoughtful responses please.

I just wanted to add that I believe the Republican know they can beat Clinton and thats why they arent working as hard to tear her down yet. She will fall like a house of cards americans like Bush because he stands for something. Clinton is easily the biggest waffler in politics right now. She waffles in the same sentence and is pro war. Americans want out of Iraq. For better or worse we want our boys home.

Seriously? I like the guy.. almost makes me wanna register to vote again (Oh and I've NEVER registered Democrat before.. but Bush I cured me of being a republican.. and his idiot son Bush II just reinforced the reason I got out of the Republican party)

The Bush family & I have a little bit of personal History... I've said some nasty (but true) things about Bush I on both CNN & the NBC today show before in the old days...LOL

He hasn't finished one simple six year senate term and already he is wanting a job promotion. That doesn't say much. What happens if he is elected President of the U.S.? Will he start running for another office not too long into his administration? Obama just seems like that poster boy who smiles and has everyone take pictures of him. I would hate for him to be elected President, and with the War on Terror and Iraq, and all of Bush's mistakes to deal with.... Obama would be a one term president. If he got elected. I don't know. Something about him just irritates me. Maybe it is his arrogance... obviously he planned on being President along time ago, and now he says he is the right guy. Howso? I do think the U.S. is ready for a black president, but I would rather see Colin Powel run for Pres... at least he has experience. I don't know... the next months and year will tell all.

As a Republican, I think he has a better chance of winning than Hillary. People just do not like that shreaking shrew. I personally think he is too young and has really done nothing to qualify for the job but feel as if he could be a long term prospect. He is sort of a weak individual- he still smokes cigarettes a little behind the times.

I have seen him on the Sunday funny's a few times and of course his speech at the Democratic national convention in 04. But the interview that impressed me most was his interview on 60 minutes, he is a family man, a Christian, he worked for $ 13,000 a year once doing outreach work in the ghetto. He seems intelligent and well spoken. He and his wife were setting on the couch wearing blue jeans. I like him and the only thing I question is he old enough with enough experience to handle the job. Then I remember that JFK was only 43 when he was elected and did a fine job in his short term in office. I don't know if he scares the repuglican hate machine as much as Hillary but they certainly do have the hate cranked up for him.

I think he is untried, untested and hasn't given a clear statement on any position he has. I want to know exactly what he will do differently in Iraq. Will he close the boarders? What are his positions on abortion, gun control and other hot button issues. I will never consider him for anything until he stops dancing around subjects and gives some straight answers. One more thing. If he wants the votes of middle America (which he absolutely needs to win) he should stay away from the Hollywood nutcases!

Great speaker. He would probably make a great president, although I don't like the idea of universal Health Care. Plus, he's pro-choice, so I would never vote for him. The fact that he could win is a bit scary, but that's life.

As a conservative, I don't fear him. I do fear the general public that is willing to hand over the White House to him without ever hearing where he stands on any issues. He has alluded to some, but to my knowlege, he has never taken a firm stand. That scares me.

I don't think he will get the nomination. There are too many closet racists in the world, and in the democratic party. Anyone can say they voted for someone and vote for another.

Good communicator. Hasn't gotten out of high school politics yet. Has no foriegn policy experience and will use his race instead of his intelligence. He is a soicialist and will go with government control.

If he was a white guy with a regular name, he would be just another face in the crowd. He has no credibility to be leading the most powerful nation in the world.
