i sent a check to my brother in texas and he said when he received it, the check was torn into pieces, why?

Ask the Post Office about it could have been a Post office employee who just wanted to cause trouble or something more sinister Check your bank account as well in case someone got your account number

Check with the postal service. There may have been some mishandling. I would definitely check into it. Be sure to watch you bank account also. Identity theft is a huge issue.

With millions of mail pieces handled per day, the Postal service
is heavy into machine sorting/processing, though by no means
a common occurence, mail does get caught and damaged, or
possibly destoyed by those machines (not intentional by any means)

Sometimes their machinery eats stuff. I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose unless you peed on it first.
