I am NOT trying to support Gore in any way, I just had a completely objective thought today.
Given that:
* Gore was part of the Clinton administration and understood the threat of Al Qaeda (Clinton's people told Bush's transition team many times that Al Qaeda was the biggest threat)
* Bush and team waited 10 months to actually get around to discussing Al Qaeda.

Isn't it at least "plausible" that a Gore administration might have caught the plan for 9/11 and prevented it?

Again, I'm not saying Clinton was perfect with Al Qaeda, just a simple objective question.

Hey Valley R:
"Feb 1996 Sudan offered to deliver Osama bin Laden, rejected by Clinton"
"Aug 1999 Clinton pardoned 16 terrorists convicted of executing 130 bombings"
I think you are confusing the 2.

I don't know why Clinton would do this, he's not my hero. I asked a simple question. I didn't expect a Spanish Inquisition. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Clinton allowed Benny boy to live when given the opportunity to nail him. You can think all you want about the green nut Gore - if the Clinton team was so concern about Big Ben they would have stopped him. One cannot look back on could of would of. Today Bush's big mistake is not nuking the area until some when gives us the head sawed off head of Ben. As to a good Muslim there ain't one - name any Muslim against the horror of what there fringe groups does. The US should show the beheading and the film on WTC having people who just went to work being forced to jump off. Perhaps then the Hollywood types won't fight our government from fighting for righteousness. Barbra Streisand maybe a good singer and good in performing sexual acts on certain government leaders - but she hasn't the intellect to judge the US foreign policy.

Yes, it is likely that a Gore Administration could have prevented the 9/11crashes. Unfortunately because of Bush's family connections with the Saudi royal family and the Bin Laden family the 9/11 was allowed to happen. I don't think Bush had a hand in planning it but he did little or nothing to stop it even though he had the iformation passed along by the previous Administration.

Do you actually blame the Clinton Administration for 9/11? You believe that propaganda spewed by the Bush Administration to sidetrack people from the real culprits of 9/11? Does Osama really exist? That's like asking if the Devil really exists. Don't you know that Osama exists within the Bush Administration just like the Devil exists in all of us? Look beyond the veil Ronin. Everything is not as it seems to be, and don't believe the BS that the Bush Administration emits.

It is doubtful that any administration would have prevented 9/11 in all reality. A threat like that would not have been anticipated with sufficient detail to prevent it.

But here's the real kicker -- A similar or an even worse attack could be done today. The worst we can imagine would be a roadside bomb alongside a railroad or rail yard with trains hauling nuclear waste.

They knew about Al Queda, yes. They knew about Bin Laden. They actually would bomb known terrorists cells. They were doing something about it. They didn't discover a possible threat on U.S. soil and planes until towards the end of Clinton's administration in which he provided all the documentation and proposed ways to handle it for the Bush administration. There was nothing else Clinton could do. Bush ignored the documents until it was too late.

REally? Is that why the Democrat controlled Senate was filibustering the Intellegence spending bill that had as its goal to eliminate Al Queda. Also being part of the Clinton Administration, would you also pin the fact that they had five offers to get Bin Laden and didn't take care of him?

You are objective as John Murtha and Ted Kennedy are non partisan.

The problem is that you are assuming that Gore had any chance at all of winning the rigged election. He didn't. The fix was in, and things turned out the way they did because WE, the American People, buy crap we don't need and give trillions of dollars to corporations whose entire purpose in life is to make money, regardless of the costs in resources, morals, or Net Creativity of the species.

The results were pre-ordained in the '70's, when the kids who grew up watching TV were taught that advertising is how we learn about the world. Unfortunately, the world we all learned about was one we didn't need; it was an invented Consumptive Competition Complex, designed to destroy the Earth and our souls.

It is something that we will never know. When Bush stole the election it changed what would have been history now. I do know that Bush had access to information that something was going to happen and he did nothing, but try to look like a hero after it was to late. After that he used it for his own personal gain, the Patriot Act and the Military Act being an example of this evil man's delusion to the American people.

The truth is.....Once a terrorist has chosen a target, committed to the plan, and is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the cause, there is Little,if anything that can be done to prevent it....the rhetoric surrounding this subject is intended for the fearful, easily swayed, that some how buy into this crap...

We can't ever really know but i seriously doubt it. 9/11 was being planned when Clinton was president and Al Gore was vice president. If they didn't catch it when they were in control then how likely is it that Al Gore would have caught it if he was president.
