I like most people love animals but wanted to know how to get in to the whole animal care profession, i was considering doing a home study animal care course but cant at the moment due to financial difficulties I have also volunteered for the RSPCA does anyone have any other ideas? thanks x

I am very dedicated and it is something i want to do for the rest of my life but i am at a loss as I dont know where to start looking please help

If you want to become a veterinary technician, you need to go to a veterinary technician school to learn what you need to know. After you graduate a program, you can take a test and become a certified or licensed veterinary technician.
If you want to be a veterinary assistant (like a candystriper) instead of a veterinary technician/nurse, then you can either take the home course, or find a veterinary clinic that will hire you and train you.

If you are wanting to become a registered or certified vet tech then you MUST go to an accredited school. If you are wanting to just become an assistant you can get that training at a vet clinic. You can do those courses for an assistant online but they really probably won't hlep you get a job

My daughter is studying at a local college doing small animial care.
She has been there for nearly 2 years 4 days a week and still has another year to do.
So you have to be really comitted it's not a spure of the moment thing
