Can any one tell me why my internet speed has dropped from 8 meg to 3 meg and stayin at 3 meg . Im supposed to be runnung at 8 meg thanx

The simple matter is that you do not get 8mg broadband from a company when you pay for the 8mg package. What happens is that you are sharing the same line with everyone on your street or in your building, and therefore, during peak hours the share of the bandwidth has to be spread among more people than non peak hours, like in the morning or at night.

However, to get the most bandwidth, you will have to set your settings to the optimum values. Numerous pieces of free software are available for this, they are free and easy to use, such as TCPOptimiser . When all possible problems have been looked at then I think you could be downloading too much stuff or your computer needs defragmenting. If you have cable then I am unsure about being affected by peek using time. There are countless other reasons, disk cleanup, deleting rubbish files from you hard disk, mal ware or anything like that.

could be numerous reasons!, go to pcpitstop and do the full tests, if you know your upload and download rates enter them and at the end it will give you a set of recommendation's, this may well point you in the direction of what is wrong!

It sounds like you have a cable modem. Verify your speed at speedtest.net and call your cable company if you are not getting the speed you are paying for.
