If Neil is a cheapshot, so is Kaleta.
Neil hits hard and hits to hurt, as does Kaleta.
Both of them are clean players.
Buffalo fans are just dillusional. Give me thumbs down all you want, you all know I'm right.
EDIT: jkc3953, I'm an OHL hockey fan. I saw Kaleta play for 4 years. And I didn't say he was a cheap shot artist you moron. Learn to read.

If Chris Neil is a cheapshot, then every hit Scott Stevens (former New Jersey Devil) ever made was dirty...and they weren't...Stevens could make the deadly open-ice hit, and he almost ended the careers of four players, including Eric Lindros, with clean hits...
They tell players to keep their heads up for a reason, and Drury was admiring the pass that he made and not looking...players are allowed in the NHL to finish their checks...
I think Tucker, Avery, and Peters (for going after a goalie) are all pretty good at the cheap shots...
Ottawa is not really known for beng a goony team, and Neil wasn't sent out by Murray to make a cheap hit, unlike Peters who was sent out by Ruff SPECIFICALLY to go after Heatley

Liles? What the HELL are you talking about. Also.. calling Kaleta a cheap shot? All he did was.. wait.. NOTHING. He did nothing cheap shot like. Plus, you called Kaleta a cheap shot, and how do you know this? He played 1 game, please learn what you're talking about. Also, Chris Neil is known for hitting players with intent to injure, and tries his best to take out anyone that comes in his path. But, I'd say Darius Kasparitis and Darcy Tucker are 2 of the biggest cheap shot players around. One of the biggest of all-time though, he doesn't do it anymore, was Eric Lindros. Man, he would pull off a cheap shot every game, and got away with it when he was back on Philly. But right now, I'd say Kasparitis and Tucker, but Lindros is #1 for my all-time.

nhl.com just did an article on him about how he had changed i guess some changes just don't last. he has always had a reputation as a dirty player. i think the refs are just as much to blame for the brawl as anybody else, had they called a penalty on a late hit that would never had happened.it was a cheap shot just like the bertuzzi ordeal, except the injuries were not as bad.when you go after a player to hurt them that is not acceptable, and that is pretty much what he did. the so called heavy hitters for the senators were skating up to brierre and taunting him before the game saturday night.the sabres owner sent a letter to the commissioner saturday and i think it is about time that the owners stepped up for their teams.after all they are the ones who pay the commissioners salary.

I agree with Barry Melrose, it was a slightly late hit, but not dirty. Drury was stupid for not keeping his head up. Neil should have gotten a 2 minute penalty.
I think Andrew Peters is a dirty thug for going after Emery after he whooped Biron. Forwards don't fight goalies.
(I'm a Wild fan, so my opinion is fairly unbiased)

I say John Michale Liles, Sean Avery, and Matt Cooke are far worse players, and have far less integrity and honor than Neil. Although Neil isn't much more than a lousy goon. It's these players that are ruining the game.

I think he should of gotten a penalty. Even though it was a supposed legal hit - Drury was bleeding on the ice - that should be an automatic penalty. I think the NHL found the rivalry they were looking for between these 2 teams.

He had roughly .5 secs to react to Drury getting rid of the puck. Good hit or bad hit, that's not a lot of time to make a decision on spur of the moment.

Regardless of whether that hit was late or not, it sparked a good game into a great one that will be remembered for awhile.
