I have a 2006 Mercury Mariner. I do not have the key code for the door. How do I find it without going to the dealership?
There is no sticker in the trunk (because there is no trunk). If it is on the door seal sticker, I don't where the number is.
Thanks.

a) This car is not stolen. If it were, do you think I would be stupid enough to post about it online with my personal, registered information.

b)I bought this car used several months ago and the key code card was missing (it would be pretty stupid to leave it in the car for a thief to find).

c)I called Ford already. They do not have key codes numbers on file. They referred me to my local dealer. I hear the dealer has to hook up a computer to it. I'm sure they will want to charge me $50 or so.

d)The key code is not in lieu of having a spare key. It is merely another means of being able to get into my car. I did not lose my keys, but it would be nice to know the code without paying for it.

I work at a Mercury dealership and the only way for you to get the door code is through the dealership. It needs to be hooked up to a computer and the code is read off the computer in the car. It is not in the vin or under anything in the car. If you bought the car new at a dealership they do have a record of it. The only problem is if you do not have any means to prove ownership. Dealerships are required to verify ownership of the vehicle before making any keys or divulging door codes. I'm sorry you will have to pay.

Some users have said the code is on the computer module under the dash, I've never seen it before, but its worth a look.

The Keypad code is usually given on a card inside your owners manual. Your local dealer can also plug into the cars computer and get you the code.

all you need to do is take the vin (serial number to the ford dealership) the key code is within that number.. it should only be a couple of bucks to get a new one.. if you don't want to do that.. remember that the key for the door is also the key for the glove box.. just open the glove box and take the lock out and go to a lock smith.. and have it re-keyed but either way.. you will have to pay for the key.. make sure to get a couple of extra ones so that just in case you loose it again.. you have a spare.. remember the key to having a key is to have a key in case you loose your key.. you might say it opens the door to not being able to open the door.. good luck

Look in your owners manual. I have a Ford, and it is in there.
