The Vatican has yet to officially begin the canonization of Mother Teresa.

She is already considered “Blessed" –meaning beatified – a step towards becoming a saint of the Catholic Church.

Typically, a person must be dead for at least 50 years to be made a saint. When mother Teresa died, there was much talk of speeding up this process for her, but it looks highly unlikely that it will happen.

No, she was just considered a living Saint by many. I am not sure they have even confirmed a miracle after her death, and not being Catholic I am not sure but I believe it takes 2, so although she is on the offical path she isn't really even close.
