Mean is another word for finding the AVERAGE of something..To find the average of something, you add up all the numbers then divide them by how many u added...Example:

$73 + $48 + $73 + $92 + $48 = $334

Then you divide the sum by 5 because you added five numbers.

$334 / 5 = $66.8

So his mean (average) nightly tips is [$66.80]

Mean=average, to find an average you add all the numbers and then divide by the the number of nights ( in this case). So it would be $73+$48+$73+$92+$48 divided by 5.

Well the mean is when you add up the group of munbers you have so:

73+48+73+92+48= 334

now to get the actual mean you divide the 334 by how many numbers you added up (or in this case how many nights Bill recieved tips.) So 5.

334/5= 66.8 So the mean (adverage) amount of money bill made in tips is $66.80
