I need a good quote for my debate project about building character. It can be something simple, something creative or just something you made yourself! It can relate to: character building, life, life learning experiences etc. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! :)

"When life gives you lemons, sell lemonade."

This is a good quote for anybody who is practical and business savvy and can see the potential to take what life gives us and turn it into something positive with growth potential. It may sound materialistic and selfish but just consider a lemonade stand before you decide to judge: a lemonade stand is providing a service--you are giving the customer something in return for a little extra $$ which you can put to whatever use you want; in addition, you are busying yourself while you sell lemonade instead of spending time in idle laziness, and you are also learning how about the work ethic and advertising as well as employing your math abilities.

This quote can be applied to the adult world as well. For instance, if you have a talent for art think of what you could do with that talent. You could start a freelance comic strip and make a living that way or you could make art for pleasure and sell some of it on the side to make a little extra $$ or display it at galleries.

I do not know who originally said this quote but it wasn't me.

The definition of Moral Courage is the ability to do the right thing when you know absolutely, that no one is watching you!

I learned this in the Army, while I was playing guitar for the band. It didn't mean that much to me when I first heard it, but as I began to apply it to different situations in my life, it became as important to me as the cane I now use to help me get around.

There is another phrase that is equally as important to me:

"No one is a complete waste. They can always serve as a bad example!"

You could say that this was often me before I learned the definition of moral courage. Hope this helps.

"Sometimes the path you are on is not as important as the direction you are heading. For, no matter if you take the Holland Tunnel or the George Washington Bridge you get to New Jersey, so long as you are heading west. The procedure involved in your path to Nirvana may meander, but a road worth traveling is will have its twists and turns." - Kevin Smith.

" Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drout...useless and disapointing"- Hillary duff ( A Cinderella Story)

I think you could use this quote. I know its not fom a great astronamer, a saint or a prophet but it means somthing to me. What I get out of it is this, You cant spend your life waiting for a guy or anyone. Dont wait to go to collage to see if someone you may even love will go or to see if they want you to. Dont wait to move along with your life because in the end if you wait for every one around you its exacly like this quote.

" Faith makes things possable not easy"- Dunno

I like this quote because it rings so much truth. Having faith in what you do doesnt make it easy

"when the poor hath cried, did not Ceasar weep,Burtus says that Ceasar was ambitionous, ambition should be made of sterner stuff"

"Cromwell, ambition is an animal to be shuned"

these quotes are not verbatim, but you know where they come from, and then there is "was it the proud full sail of his great verse, bound for the prize of all too precious you"
