Discovery channel had a special a couple of months ago under the banner of 'a true story that hasn't happened' Suffice it to say when the yellowstone caldera awakes from its dormancy the scale of devastation will make life in several states tenuous. In the program the first hit would be the three states right around yellowstone but if the eruption continues the list will get progressively longer and lives will be lost not to mention economic loss.

Having bee there numerous times I would say you have very little to worry about, it vents all over the park in various ways, venting every day helps keep pressure from building up. If It goes Montana, Idaho and Wyoming will suffer as well as the rest of the states from ash and pollution.
