I totally blanked on this English paper I'm writing about Fahrenheit 451.

Yes, when using MLA format, you italicize book titles (unless you are handwriting, then you underline.) My English teacher always says "use short lines for short works (like poems) and long lines for long works (like books)." That's how I remember it. :)

Usually the title of a novel is underlined - if it is the title of a poem, it's in inverted commas.
