If there is no vomitting or diarrhea, then there is no need for Pedialite. It's only needed if there is a chance that the baby is dehydrated. They won't get dehydrated from a URI.

If you read the bottle of pedialite it is recommended for children 1yr and up. In addition an upper resp infection has nothing to do with dehydration. Pedialite is to give electrolytes to a child who has been vomiting a lot or had diarrhea.

No.
You only give pedialite if the baby is vomiting or has diarrhea and is at risk for dehydration.
My doc had us switch to the lactose free formula for 24 hours when my baby had a URI. But she is much older (10 months) and can tolerate the switch better. I would ask you doc before I did anything with a baby that young.

Is your baby dehydrated? It's ok to give it to her as long as she doesn't replace that for her milk. Ask your doc. They probably will tell you not to give it to her alot because then she might not take her milk.
