Good question.Im sure peoples views must differ greatly on the subject.Personally, i dont think there is anything wrong with it.You are providing a valuable service, and there will always be the demand for it.I would find working in a supermarket for £6.00 an hour more degrading. We all need to make a living somehow, so why not.The british prefer to brush such things under the carpet and pretend it doesnt go on.We should be more open like other european countries. It is after all just a basic human instinct, and not something weird and unnatural.

Some guys use escorts because they work so hard and they don't have time to go out on the pull. They then need a face to bring to work dos and so they don't look lonely. Some escorts don't do "extras".
I don't think the example above is prostitution.
However I do have a problem with this.
Allow me to elaborate.
A few months ago I went with a few mates went to a strip club. This was my first time but they had been many times before, and some of the girls knew some of my friends by name.
In the club the girls were walking around, propositioning other punters for a dance. One particular girl sat down and chatted to my friend and they made idle chit chat about the weather, work etc and she was flirting with him. My perception was that she was flirting with him not because she felt he was special in any way but probably because she wanted him to buy a dance from her.
Now my perception might be wrong, but this "pretend liking someone because they might give me money" made, and makes me feel uncomfortable.

It isn't another form of prostitution it IS prostitution. As for if i would consider doing it - well i would - i don't think there's anything wrong in it. It pays the bills - keeps people of the social security and therefore saves me money in taxes. I would rather do that than scrounge of the social, and have illegitimate kids as a source of income and before people judge my attitude you know it happens and we all know people like that. They are the REAL prostitutes. I would much rather have a hard working sex worker as friend or family than a scrounger that wants everything for giving nothing..

Well, I would say it is a form of prostitution.
I understand we all need some means to support ourselves, but there are something we should not touch on in order to get money. If you abandoned any bit of morality, it would be much easier to get handsome money. You wouldn't do anything just to keep your standard of life higher, would you? Please don't get me wrong. I am not blaming someone who is engaged in this kind of business. All I am saying is that whatever types of name it may have, selling "oneself" to some total stranger is prostitution.
If there is such a thing as a "Free Escort Service" in its original meaning, would be happy to be a member of that firm and voluntarily work as an escort and help tourists to do the sightseeing or something at your town?
I suppose you wouldn't.

Escort services are stepping stones to prostitution. If you had no desire to prostitute then stay away from escort services.

I believe it is an honest living. but like every good thing there are those who abuse it and take it a step farther, prostitue themselves to earn bigger money.
If I felt I could be successful at it I would be tempted to give it a try.
