It appears that the high limit thermostat has gone. This is located at the rear of the machine, connected to 2 wires. Get a cheap electrical test meter and test for continuity across the thermostat, if there's no continuity the thermostat has gone and if there's no reset button you need to replace it. The cost is about £15.

Hope this helps

The last 10-15 mins of a tumble drier cycle are cool air only. If you want to test your handywork crank the timer up to 50-60mins.

Before the power goes to the element it goes through a heat senser, these go bad also, it was probably this that went bad,if you follow the wires you can find it, it's about the size of a half dollar with wires.

Try doublechecking the thermostat - you check it just like a car's - it'll open up if you drop it in boiling water. If not, that's what's wrong. I bought a new one at Auto Zone. Just took mine there and asked if they had anything like it and got a new one for next to nothing.

CHECK YOUR SELECTOR SWITCH ON THE CONSOLE AND BE SURE IT IS NOT IN "FLUFF" IF IT HAS THAT SETTING. CHECK FOR BURNED OFF WIRE TERMINALS. JUMPER THE HIGH LIMIT STAT LOCATED ON THE ELEMENT CAN AND TRY IT. THEN JUMPER THE STAT LOCATED IN THE DRUM OUTPUT AIR STREAM AND SEE IF THAT MAKES IT HEAT. IF THAT DOESN'T HELP GIVE US A BRAND, MODEL AND SERIAL OFF OF THE NAMEPLATE-NOT YOUR BOOKLET.

Sounds like the thermostat, it may have a reset behind the machine.
