Yes i have a phobia about fish. I am 49 and have never touched a fish in my whole lifetime. I would probably scream and pass out if i ever had to. No I will never overcome this because i see no need to. I do not eat fish or even want to touch fish fillets. I know but this is about the only phobia I have. I almost drowned in a lake when i was 3 and choked on fish bones when i was little and my parents made me eat it. I can't even eat tuna fish sandwiches without getting sick. I do like shrimp and lobster but that is as far as seafood goes for me. I actually posted this as a question before and got some good feedback. No one on this earth can ever make me over come this!

I use to have a phobia of going over a bridge. I son't know why, but I would just freak out and close my eyes and shrink as far down in my seat as possible. It was especially hard when we went to VA, where there is a very long bridge with and underwater tunnel. Now I'm fine going over them. One day I just stopped being scared.
I also don't like fish, like the person above me. I had a fishtank and that didn't bother me but when I gave two away and I had to take them out, I freaked out. My mom actually had to do it for me.

Dogs... Big bad dogs. I know of someone who was killed by a rottweiler, ever since then it has instilled real fear in me.You hear so many stories of attacks and death by dogs aswell. I panic when I see a dog approaching me and expect to be attacked by it.
Some breeds, I am not afraid of like labradors and shitzu's etc - pet dogs. I will never overcome it though, will just try to avoid the evil animals.

systematic desensitisation. gradually exposing yourself to the threatening situation/object whilst using relaxation methods of deep breathing and reassuring thoughts. start with just the thought of the fear, then a picture, then increase this until you can be in the feared situation whilst able to control your fear response and stay relatively calm.
yes, you can overcome them! go and see a psychologist for assitance with this process if you need.
good luck.
