You really aren't either one are you? It sounds to me you're trying to find yourself, which is very OK. More than likely, in 3 - 5 years you will be going through a different phase or you will have found yourself by then.
When we are truly comfortable in our skin, we don't ask why others look at us or think of us in another way. We just go on being who we are and go on with our lives.

Fear of the unknown. If people look different from the "norm", they make fun, ridicule or worse. If has been happening for centuries and not just to emos and goths. Who cares what other people think. If you are comfortable in your own skin than it shouldn't bother you. Imagine a world with no diversity, what a horribly boring place it would be . . .

I think people make fun of emos and goths because they're different from other people. I have friends that are emo and goths. But because of me being black other blacks think im only supposed to talk to blacks. But thats not the case.I think thats why people look at me funny and ask me why do I talk to those weird people. Some of them have good hearts and are just misunderstood. I try not to judge people by their appearance. And I try my hardest to get to know them for who they are and not how they look.

Most people make fun of emos and goths because of a stereotype that all goths are wasted druggies that do nothing all day but smoke pot. It doesn't mean that you do, but all the goths I've known have.

Dont take **** from anyone, just laugh at them wierd hip hop losers, I live in germany, and like 5-10% listings to rock/metal Etc. The rest is all like hiphop and that crap, but I won't let that take me down, f*** them, seriously, just ignore them, as long as you are ok to your friends, then you definatly will be fine :D

they make fun of people that are 'emo' cuz they have nothing else to talk about and are just really insecure. just tell them to f*** off.
besides they dont even know what the real emo is. the real emo was lost to my chemical romance and whatever. the real emo was the 90's DC and long island underground scene. its not a label, or genre, its a sub-culture.
