I have heard alot of people say it works too. It worked great for my bother however it didn't work worth a flip on me. I too tried ALOT of over the counter acne creames, face washes, etc and finally found tea tree oil. This stuff is great and cost only 12 bucks for a bottle. You can spot treat and alot of the acne actually goes away overnight. If I were you I would try that before I spend alot of money on that proactive -plus they say once you start that (Proactive) you need to keep using its products to keep your skin clear, which will cost you ALOT. If you can't find the tea tree oil in a store near you go to www.aveda.com and type in tea tree oil in the search bar. Good Luck!

DEFINITELY! I too had tried everything out there. And I've been using proactive for almost a year now. It's the best thing I've ever tried. I rarely break out anymore, my acne scars are fading, my complexion is so much smoother and more even and my skin even glows now. I even tried acnefree and it still didn't do anything for me. But my advice is to use it carefully. When I first got it, it worked so well, I was wahing my face with it 3 or 4 times a day and it did dry out my skin. But as long as you don't do that, it should definitely work. Plus, they have a pamphlet about tons of other products (even makeup and shampoo) that you can order as well. You should definitely try it. And stick with it. Your acne isn't going to disappear overnight, although within a week, my skin already looked better.

Proactive is just watered down Clearasil. Both contain benzyl peroxide which purifies pores but is dries out your skin a lot. Try Murad's acne line. It works great and doesn't dry out your skin. Also, benzyl peroxide has been found to break down collagen causing premature wrinkling.
You can also get a facial as this will help your skin too. You can go to a beauty school and get a good facial for less money. Have them do a high frequency treatment because this will kill the bacteria in the pores causing the break out.

proactive is amazing. I started using it about 2 months ago and my sking is 100% better. At first it did make it a little dry but not that bad and it dosent do that anymore. I ordered the basic 3 step system. I only use the repairing creme once a day except for during my period. I wish I would have discovered this product years ago. My skin is soo clear and radiant looking. It is worth the money.

i use ProActiv and i love it. it doesn't work for everyone because there are different reasons people break out, but it's worth a try. and to contradict what the person before me said, ProActiv isn't really that incredibly expensive. there are different plans you can get, but i get the face wash, lotion and toner one for about $30 a month.

your skin does sound like mine though. i get oily on my cheeks just on either side of my nose, but my skin gets really dry around my eyes, chin and forehead. ProActiv comes with a really good lotion that controls oil but helps to keep the rest of your face from drying out.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

It really depends on your skin type. It didn't work out for me, but it could for you. Right now I use 'Deep Clean.' I also suggest the scrub your face with a washcloth every night with your product. Never pick at your blemishes though. You could infect them and cause it look even worse! I shiver at the thought.

I DEFINITELY recommend ProActive. I've used it and it worked miracles. I also have a friend who had really bad acne and it worked for her. You can get a sample kit from them and try it out to see if it works for you, but it is definitely worth a try.

You can ask your doctor for a referral to a dermatologist to see if you can get a prescription that might work for you, too.

Good Luck, i know exactly how you're feeling.

My friend used it (and still uses it).. she said that it does work really well, but if you try to stop using it, you break out really bad. The same goes if you use it for a long time.. like your skin builds a resistance to the benzoyl peroxide or something.. so yeah it works, but it can also make you break out in return.

OMG Proactive Broke me out I looked worse while using it. So my advise for you would be to not use it...go to the dermatologist and get a prescription for Retin-A and results in like 6 weeks and use Neutrogena to wash your face.
