How do you handle life without sex for almost one year?

I'm trying to abstain from sex what is the best thing to do until I get married.

Make it an inviolable rule at the very outset of the relationship.

My now-fiancee knew, from the very beginning, that I wanted a relationship where we didn't have sex before marriage. (She also knew that I hadn't adhered to that in previous relationships, and ultimately regretted it.) She agreed: no sex before marriage. In fact, at the point where we decided to seriously pursue a relationship, our first two rules were: no sex before marriage, and we'll date for a year before making a final decision. (Trust me, both of them were very, very necessary.)

Part of the motivation for us is, she came into the relationship as a single parent, so there was a little boy watching us, and we wanted to provide a good example for him. Part of the motivation was, "We want to do this the right way in the eyes of God."

Over time, as we realized that we did want to get married, the thoughts of, "Oh, well, we're getting married anyway" did occur to us. But then, too, we each thought, "This is something we agreed is important. We've waited this long, we can wait a little longer." It became like a mutual goal, to wait.

And now ... now our wedding day (and wedding night) is nearly upon us. Now, that wedding night will be kind of our way of declaring ourselves husband and wife. The minister declared it to the families and friends, but that will be our way of declaring it to each other.

You have to seriously believe you can do it. I am also abstaining from sex until I atleast get engaged... which probably won't be until another 5 years!! But I know in my heart that I can do what-eva I put my mind to. There are so many other things you can do rather than having sex. Go out to a restaurant, take a walk in the parc, etc. you don't always have to be cooped up in the bed. Keep those legs closed (lol). It will be hard, but its possible. And when you find the right guy- you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay out of situations that you could be tempted in. Keep busy. Don't be alone with the person you are with if being alone will provide an opportunity for sex. Stay in groups. Don't wear suggestive clothing that will make the guy desire you in that way. The more you practice all of this, the easier it will be. Once you cave in however, it will be very difficult. I applaud your desire to abstain. That is a rarity these days. Good for you! I wish you all the best. It will be worth the wait!

there's nothing wrong with having sex before you are married......if you are a responsible person and take the all the precautions necessary then there is no reason for you to abstain from having sex.......always have protected sex don't let anyone make you change your mind about it.......abstaining in this day and age is really hard and I wish all the luck on that endeavor.......the best thing to do is just masturbate, that would calm down you sexual needs...

Get a hobby and keep busy and you won't have time to think about it. It's not that hard to go on without sex for a year unless you're sex addicted. Your husband to be is going to be a very happy man when he discover that you're a virgin 8-}}}}
