Well, I recently heard a special news report on the radio that some retirement homes/facilities were purchasing the Wii for the people who live there and that these old people were actually playing and enjoying them. It didn't give any specific age, but I'm sure there are people there in their 70's, 80's, and possibly 90's.
As for the youngest, my 4 year old cousin plays gamecube.

the oldest is 47 yrs. old...and i feel he is a lazy boring bum!!! The youngest is 12 yrs. old, and just a kid having fun. I have no problem with anyone playing video games....but when an older person plays like a kid...that bugs me. have fun in life...

I've known people in their 70's and 80's who still play them - of course, as they age they tend to focus more on the puzzle games (Tetris, etc.)
I've known kids as early as 3-4 to play video games.
