Well, I own 3 right now. (Arranged by date of bought) 1) Nintendogs! Chihauhau version! 2)(Got both games on same day) Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2. 3) New Super Mario Brothers. My favourite DS Lite game would have to be mariokart. It's simple to learn and a lot of fun. Another great one is Nintendogs. I don't own it, but I have played it, and it's a lot of fun as well.
Also, you can buy games for Gameboy Advances that are usable in your DS; for that I recommend Urbz by the Makers of the Sims. It's a nice game that involves strategy to win.

I would recommend getting Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Nintendogs, Lost in Blue, and Zoo Tycoon DS, but that's just my taste.

I would say definitly get mariokart and New super mario bros. They are A LOT of fun! Also you might want to get yoshis island 2.

mario games (super princess peach, yoshi's island ds, mario kart, mario hoops 3on3, and new super mario bros) they are all awesome!!!!!
