i have not yet used a tampon but this is about my 3rd period,.
i am very athletic so they are usually off by a few weeks. so about how long should i keep the tampon in?

usually the instructions that come with the tampons say no longer than 8 hours. I only leave one in that long if its an overniht type thing. You should change it every time you use the washroom. So every few hours. That way you won't be as likely to have embarrassing leaks or to develop an infection.

If you have light periods I would say keep them in for a couple of hours or when it is completely absorbed in blood.

read and follow directions on or in box. leaving it in too long can lead to toxic shock which can kill you
