Even most Religious people are. But whats the drive that makes us scared

I'm a Christian and I am not afraid to die. My faith is in my relationship with Jesus Christ, no in following a set of religious dos and don'ts. When I trusted Jesus as my Savior, I lost my fear of death and have never regained it since. I know without a shadow of a doubt that when that day comes, and however death comes, I will be with Christ. No one has to live their lives in fear or death, Jesus does have a solution to that problem.

Were Afraid To Die Because The Fact That We Leave Many People Behind With No Hope And Leave So much Unfinished Work Behind And That We Have Many People Missing Us

I personally have no fear of death...only a fear of the way I might die. I personally believe in life after death and another side that's our true home. And some of the people I love most in this world are over there, so I sure wouldn't be afraid to see them--I'm looking forward to it whenever it's my time to move on. I just hope the way I go isn't a long, painful one. Truthfully I have more fear of stuff on this side than over there. So I think it boils down to if you really have faith, or have seen what you believe as proof that there is more to life. If not I agree we fear what we don't know or truly believe in.

I don't know why people are afraid to die, when you think about it,it's a win win situation. If you have religious beliefs then you believe that you are going to a better place. If you don't have any beliefs then you are just dead with nothing else to worry about.I would be afraid to die because I have children,I don't want to leave them without a mother. Most peoples fear of death is probably based on uncertainty,we don't really know for sure what happens next.

It's an inherent instinct, but if you want a logical conjecture I would say that it's because we only get one life. I do not know what will happen to me. Being alive is like a "safety net" feeling. It is very much like you feel safe at home, but once you go into a dangerous place you're scared. We feel comfortable living because thats all we know of, and we are scared of what can or might lie out of human existence. Make sense?

We all know that one day we will pass, and we learn to live with it and move on. Therefore, I don't think that people fear the concept of death itself, but rather when and how they will die. Everyone expects to die someday, but we fear that that time will come before we are ready. Most people are also afraid of a painful death(I know I am). They want to pass away naturally or at least painlessly. Humans don't fear death itself, but rather the possibility of a painful and/or sudden death.

I am religious but still afraid of dying because I enjoy life and people that are around me. Personally my religon says that once we die we are no longer connected to the people that we once knew. We're just floating souls with no emotions. that's scary to me because I have a twin and mother that I love so much and the thought of them not watching over me or vice versa is kind of sad.

I am mainly afraid to die before I get to do what I want to do with my life. Wether by suicide, murder, or accidents, I don't care when or how I die as long as it is after my plans.
I have always thought that I will die when I'm in my late thirties of early forties by getting shot in the head or chest, and drowning in my own blood unable to be saved by my combat buddies. That is how I would want to die rather than get hit by a car, or heart attack. In the line of duty.

By not knowing and "understanding" who God is and what His plans are, we fear the unknown. True Christians understand and are NOT afraid, because they know and understand their destiny, as well as their purpose here on Earth.
This understanding comes ONLY from continuously reading the Bible, since only then can the Holy Spirit impart Divine wisdom and understanding as a reward for devotion to the Word of God.

Fear of the unknown is a factor and so is fearing the pain that may come with the end of life.
Mixed with fear is the unimaginable feeling that must come when you realize you are going to leave all that you love in this life behind.
