hi there! a reasonable question :)
But no, they wouldn't blow up it's a question for wether the cow is lactating (making milk) or not that determines wether or not they produce milk. Often on Dairy Farms for example will have calves on their cows because when in the later stages of pregnancy (usually) the cow will start to produce milk because a hormone will basically instruct it to. Basically like a switch.
Once the cow is producing milk she will generally keep producing milk until her calf stops feeding from her. In the case of a Dairy farm and the milking machines the cow will just keep producing milk endlessly. Farmers generally work on a system that (if they can) allows cows to have a break for a while then begin and endless cycle of lactation again. Although, it does make you think having the hormone that induces this production of milk working for soo long and all that would the cow have a less than usual length of life because the hormones knock her system about?
hmm.. interesting

no because cows(like humans) only produce milk when they have a baby. So as long as the baby or in most cases the the milking machine keeps taking milk there wil be enough milk. Just like with a mother.

no because a cow must have a calf to produce milk, and if it had a calf then the calf would be eating the milk...... I'm sorry but DUH!!!
If it had a calf but was separated from it, then her utter would be very swollen and painful.
