Yes, you can buy the new mechanism. It comes in a kit at the hardware store for about $10. It's the seal at the end of the chain that's not sealing properly.

The mechanisms wear out they have a complete change out the entire inside tank at Home Depot or Ace Hardware for about 10 bucks.

Hey listen I work as a service clerk at a supermarket and one of my jobs is to fix problems with the Public bathrooms in the store, I pretty much do what I can since Im not really a plumber, but we have maintance guy who does things in the store and he shows me a thing now and then and one of my exsperiances was when the tiolet wouldnt refill, and what he told me and showed me was that it was the air pressure, and all he did was loosen the air pressure valve in the tank and it work... I suggest you try that, that just might be the problem, usaully when the air pressure valve is too tight that would cause the water pressure to not flow right !!! So give it a try....

You can by all new pieces if you need to. An easy fix: bend the metal piece attached to the 'floaty thingy'. That will usually fix the problem and no tools required.

Until you can buy a new one, make sure the ball flap seats on the drain (in the tank.) That will make the toilet hold water.

You can buy the guts, but try bending down the arm that holds the ball , just a little.

This happened to us recently. Just go to a hardware store and you can simply buy the "guts" and install is yourself - instructions are on the pack and anyone can do it. A cheap, easy and effective option.

You can buy just the guts. Find out what parts you need though. It may only be that float it may only be the filler thingy, so ask a guy what the hells wrong with it and tell him to fix it.

You can buy a rebuilding kit at Menard's Home Depot, Lowe's , or an independent hard ware store.

Yes, you can buy just the fill valve assembly. It is very easy to replace. I just bought one at home depot for $11.00.
