yes. but if you don't want to spend any money you could stick a peice of a nail in it and it will work.

They do make spacers, ask a parts store about it.
I think that pos cable and negative cables are different sized clamps on some cars, double check what your doing to make sure you have correct battery.

No! and make verrry sure you are trying to put the right cable on the right post, they are two different sizes...the red cable goes on the + post, and black goes on the - post...it's marked on the battery right next to the post.
If your clamp won't tighten, either get a replacement, or new complete cable.

they olny make battery post ends and battery cables with the ends on them already assembled and ready to be installed onthe vehicle and are sold at a fairly cheap price depending on where you go to get them but after 16 yrs as a mechanic i never heard of a battery spacer or spacers at all best thing to do is replace the cable ends or replace the whole battery cable that should solve that issue ok thanks and god bless.............

if you are putting it on the right post ( positive and negative are different sizes ) and it is too sloppy get a new clamp or cable, shims or nails are sleazy , they leave too much room for corrosion .

Yes, they sell spacers at auto part stores, they are not that much, but you might also look at getting a new clamp, there not espensive either.
