The meaning of a circumference is around the circle. To find the circumference you use a formula which is 2piR. The pi part is pretty much a line on top and two lines on the bottom and one of the line is curved at the bottom(the one to the left). It represents 3.14. The R is the radius which is half of the diameter. The 2 is just stands for times by 2. All you do then is to times 2 and 3.14 and 5.Below are the steps you follow.

STEPS
1) USE THE FORMULA 2PIR(2 PI R)
2) THEN TIMES 2 AND 3.14 AND 5.(PI=3.14)

2r times pi.

31.4 feet.

the radius is half of the diameter. the radius is 5, so diameter is 10. pi is defined as the ratio of circumference to diameter in a circle.

In other words, a circle is 3.14 times longer around than it is wide.

3.14 times 10 = 31.4
