I'm a home repair man. You need to be Reliable, confidant, respectful & honest. You also need to keep the area as clean as you can. A good rule of thumb is to leave the job cleaner then it was before the repair. warrenty all the work done. Also, place down some tarps from the door to the repair area.Dont be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

1.The truth about what is wrong with the item being repaired.
2.And then a fair cost to repair it.
This just never happens, so if you want to train your chaps the same as all other repair companies in the world, then start your training session off with
AVOID THE TRUTH AND GET AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU CAN.
Smash and Grab principles should not apply, but they frequently do.

Reliability and communication. Come on the day and time that you have told them and let them know if you can't make it.
Be clean in your dress and work and tidy up after
Don't play your radio without permission
Don't smoke either inside or outside
Explain any major problems to them - don't assume they won't understand.
Don't wear muddy boots in the house
I could go on......Some repair men are very good and one expects to pay a bit more for them - some are terrible and unfortunately one usually pays more for them

To be polite, and clean so don't ruin carpets. To get on with the job quickly and know what they are doing with a supply of commonly used supplies so they can hopefully finish the job in 1 visit

One that turns up on the day and time that he says. Courtesy, politeness and above all confidence in the job that he has been sent to do, without being ripped off.

That they come when they say they'll come, that they drink their tea while they work, that they don't spend ages just chatting, that they explain what the problem was and finally that they don't nick the silver or piss in the sink when your back is turned!
