Some thesis statement ideas:
Wars have not decreased over the ages, but increased. We do not learn from wars. Lots of examples here in any history book.
Wars are caused by man's insatiable greed for more land more riches more things. Man can never have enough and man is never satisfied with what he has, so he must take from others.
Wars are a neccessary by-product of overpopulation of the earth by Homo Sapiens. You can make comparative to other species that self regulate through slaughtering their own kind.
Wars are a "guy" thing. Not many women leaders have declared wars. This would be easy enough to prove.
