Has he been replaced by a dinosaur or did i just miss him on my last two journeys?

it took the hump and left so they put the dinosaur in it's place

You're right - he's gone. The little camel that appeared beside him a couple of years ago has gone too. Perhaps the Wicker Man and the T Rex scared him off.
