I am sick of the media glamorizing Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Lindsey Lohan, Tara Reid, etc etc etc by calling them "PARTY GIRLS." This sends a dangerous message to young people. The reality is that these very troubled stars are DRUG ADDICTS AND ALCOHOLICS.
Perhaps the death of Anna Nicole Smith (and her son) will make the media STOP GALMORIZING DRUG ABUSE. I really hope so. What do you all think about this issue?

I think that Anna Nicole Smith was a terrible mother who on earth would do drugs around her son and then let him do drugs in front of her its her fault he died had she not turned him into an addict and been a good mother he would still be alive shame on her no sympathy here and her death probably saved her daughter because she probably would have turned her into a prostitute stripper and turned her into an addict and as far as Paris Hilton i don't know about her or the rest of them because i am not there to know what they do and you can't believe have the sH** the media says but Anna Nicole Smith Her story has been widely publicised so people can comment on that. and that is just how i feel

I hope it opens someones eye, but this is a common more so than you think we have parents and parents friends teaching the young it's OK, and I have seen and heard about it first hand. I have many Alcoholics in my family and because it's legal some see nothing wrong with it. I do and I refuse to uphold the self destruct behavior. Now I'm condemned by the stupidity of my own family but I want back down. It's not OK if a person is a stripper to make a good living and turn into and addict and not take care of her kids, and go to jail three times a year. But see not on welfare they say. I say B.S. she's going to be just like
Anna Nicole Smith, and I just hope the kids don't go down with her. I voice my opinion and I don't back down. So I'm the bad one. So I think as long as people promote glamor and addiction to the young and old is never going to change.

I agree with you 100%. I think this issue is very serious because more and more kids are being dropped off at a day care, or being babysat by a baby sitter. Parents are not around long enough, to see how their kids are doing, and it seems it is up to teachers, police officers, and other adults to discipline them, and they are
busy enough with the other stuff they have to do. So kids, more than ever, rely on the media to tell them, what they could and could not do, and that will cause a lot of problems in the future.

The media can only ''glamorize'' celebrities (or sway elections or present slanted polls or raise hysteria over myths such as global warming) if the mindless masses allow them to. Don't read or subscribe to mainstream media. Skim over an on-line news article concerning something you consider to be interesting or important and then do your own research to find out the real story. It sounds like work, doesn't it? Maybe that's why people stay misinformed.

The news media cannot help the fact there are sheep out there who do their own glamorizing of these sick individuals. The media is in it for how bizarre and sensational the story is. They are not necessarily selling their lifestyle to us as glamorous. It is up to us to talk to our kids about things like this, and for us not to buy into it either. The majority of the celebrities are terrible role models, and we need to teach our children that.

Well it`s certain media reports about this garbage, coz tabloidmedia is governed by what sells, regardsless of how tacky that is. If these ppl are not addicts already they`re risking becoming it, if they continue such lifestyle. Anyway reporting about what these ppl are doing is just nonsense w/out any bearing at all. I`m tired of it.

I agree, they are setting a bad example but it is not really up to them to set the example, it is up to the parents....as far as I am concerned they are all messed up and always will be...no use for any of them...including Anna Nicole...I can't believe what a freak show she was and her being dead doesn't change that....she was a blithering idiot who shoud have had her son taken away..no tears for her here.......

I agree that they are troubled but the media will continue to glamorize them. This is the news that sells and we continue to buy it. Many people live vicariously through celebrities wether it gives them something to gossip about or fills their own fantisies people love to hear about all this trash.
