"The Covered Wagon"?

Does anyone know of a remake of the silent film "The Covered Wagon"? It's based on a novel by Emerson Hough? There was talking; it was not silent????

most movie people consider 1930's the "Big Trail" with John Wayne

and Fighting Caravans in 1931 as general talking remakes of

"Covered Wagon" . The latter starred a young Gary Cooper and

Lili Damiti. Though both movies are good and have great casts

they can't match the scope and historical significance of "wagon"
