It means that you caught him totally off-guard, that he didn't like you in that way, and now doesn't talk to you to avoid awkwardnesses.

wow im so sorry that happened to you i know it can break your heart and leave some scars. some guys don't see whats right in front of them and if they don't want to appreciate you than its not worth your time! i honestly think that you should give him a taste of his own medicine and just give him the cold shoulder, don't talk to him and pretend that you don't give a damn about him...and i promise you that he will come around. guys dont like to be ignored but they like to do all the chasing so maybe you came on a lil too strong for his taste. but i sware he will talk to you if you do this.
you might say how do i know this? well i have a lot of male cuzins and i get all my advise from "the heartbreaker of my high school" my cuzin lol

Translation : " I don't know what to say but I don't want to sound like a jerk - so lets be friends - but don't talk to me"
I'm sorry but there are guys out there who use the "friends" excuse - and then never want to talk to you again. Happened to me when I was 13 and it broke my heart.

he just simply isnt intrested and instead of being like, "Ew, no... don't EVER ask me that question again, he told u the nice way."
In sixth grade, I really liked this guy and i asked him out because all of my friends made me and he responded the same way. We later got together at a birthday party and he really kept his distance.

Similar thing happened to me. But this was with an old time crush that i started talking to again after 6yrs. You can never figure them out. They say one thing and mean another. I say; move on and forget about the jerk. If he is avoiding you, he doesn't deserve your time. You should find yourself a better friend.

He isn't interested in you. He was trying to be nice in the way he was letting you down. Let it go and move on.

He ain't worth it darlin..........you should never have to try hard to get someone..............And he is telling you he just wants to be friends.
Step back, be yourself, have fun, and if he is interesed, then give it a shot, but it sounds like he's just not in to you.......if he was, he would be trying for your attention, don't settle for less.

He was just being nice. He didn't want to just flat-out say no, so he put it in a nicer way.
