I have an assignment for my english class...we were asked to write an essay about a love song and describe if it is love of family, romantic love, love of friendship, unrequited love, or love of country. My choice of song is Hinder; Lips of an Angel. I have written my introduction paragraph but i don't know what else to say to prove my thesis. So far I have;

A Love Song Called Hinder

Hinder would be classified under romantic love because the song is about two people that have broken up and got together with someone else but they still love each other. The song talks about how they have never really moved on and they still love each other (Hinder; Lips of An Angel).

Does anyone else have an suggestions on how to impove my introduction paragraph or what else to write in my body paragraphs? Please Help!?!?!?!? My assignment is due tomorrow!

The song is actually called Lips of An Angel,and its by the group Hinder.
But I would try something more like:
"The song is about how two people who are no longer in a relationship,still have feelings for each other.Even though they have had relationships with other people since,it is clear that they have not moved on and still love each other. Even though in the song the man's with another girl at the time,he still answers her phone call,and talks to her trying to comfort her because she's crying. She uses him as her "rock" during her hard time,and calls him as if their still in a relationship. He expresses his love throughout the song by saying she has the lips of an angel,and how her voice comforts him even though nothing is wrong. He also talks of how he wishes the girl who he is with was her. And its showed that even though they never really moved on they still had feelings for each other."

May I also point out the reason they broke up was because he was unfaithful,hope I could help!

First paragraph is okay, but the sentences kind of run on. How about
'I would classify 'Lips of an Angel', by Hinder, as a romantic song because that love is one which involves both physical and emotional desire on behalf of two people. The two in this song were in a relationship, and even though they have broken up and moved into new relationships, they still love each other.

For the body, I would start with the definition of romantic love like the one at wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_love ) They have actually listed four properties of romantic love, the first three which would be good each for a paragraph with examples from the song lyrics. The final paragraph could discuss how the love they have wasn't quite requited, so that it might be comparable to unrequited love. Then say why you don't consider it unrequited, and then reaffirm that you still think it's romantic love.

Good luck

Basic rule of thumb with writing essays: first paragraph gives your topic: "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder is a song about romantic love. Give the jist of why you think this, and then use the second paragraph to explain your points further, giving specific lines from the song with your interpretation of them. The third paragraph should be your conclusion, which wraps up the essay. Maybe include why you feel this isn't really unrequited love, etc., or how you can relate to this song. Good luck! Don't forget to put quotation marks around the song title or any quotes from the song!

If you need easy songs to write about, let me start by saying, try country music. It is alot easier to understand, and Im sure it will be easire to write about. You can get most of the lyrics on line if you dont know any country songs. A really good one that talks about both kinds of love is: "come home soon" by Sha Daisy. I think I spelled that right. You can also use a very popular song called "Never Say Goodbye". I think that would cover friendship love and romantic love. Just remember, music is somewhat like the Bible. It means something different to everyone. You really cant go wrong, its all how you interpet it. Whiskey Lulaby is a pretty good love song as well. Good luck. D

You should add in quotes from the song showing why your thesis proves this.
