Visit Port-Cros national park.
It's a natural protected area on an island near Hyères and Toulon.
Well worth a visit.

My family live in Toulon. There's a lovely walk along the beach of Mourillon with a pathway cut into the rock cliff which leads you along lots of bays which are great for a private swim with your mates.

You should also check out Mont Faron. There's a cable car to the top where there is a cafe, some walks and a zoo up there too. It has great views out over the town and port.

I went to Toulon a couple of years ago. An excellent trip, was the one hour harbour cruise to go and sea the French Naval Fleet. You see alot more warships than either Portsmouth or Plymouth, and you get a nice tan as you do it.
