And please do not lay the blame at the feet of the medai. If we did not watch that type of news they would not report it. They do what gets them ratings, the fault it with us what is wrong with us?

Maybe I phrased the question wrong. I am trying to understand what is wrong with us. I know that people in the military are modest and that Anna Nicole was not exactly a "nice girl" (she was some one's mother so please don't call her whore) but the question really is WHY are We so interested in the banal and not the real. We are more concerned about Hilary's hair then what she says, George's IQ then what he does, We care more about the Oscars then about the Global Warming. And more about Anna Nicole then our service personal. WHY. When did we as a nation become lemmings?

Media in the USA sucks...........I have to add that even though its not in here.A small amount dont go by what the media says but most people want excitment that these "stars" have.
Americans need a change in the media to change the though. Trust me by the way,I am American and lived ouside the country for several years in several places
It comes down to the same reason nobody knows how many people die each day in Africa from aids
or how many people are killed in Sadan each week

Because IT IS the media!!! Doesn't matter what channel you turn to, there is something on about Anna Nicole, or Britney Spears for that matter.... How often do you hear anything about the war...except on the Evening News???
Keep cramming it down our throats and drowning our ears with it and your brain will eventually remember details whether you want to or not...
