I don't mean just that there is tons and tons of stuff to learn because as non-Japanese we are naturally ignorant of the culture, but something beyond that, something deeply spiritual and profound?

Not just Japan. I think people watch too many animes and think that Japan is this super-magical land. It's not. No more than any other country out there.

There is more to Eastern Religions I believe than what we can read, but thats about it...Japan is filled with cos-playing Super Nerds.
